Hello friends,
It’s Day 5 of 24 Days of Christmas Calm: A Mindful Advent Companion for a Gentle December - My Gift for You! It’s not too late to follow along. Visit the story below for a link to the daily prompts.
Today’s Prompt is…
I’d like to send gratitude to my friend and mentor, Josette Diaz.
It’s a pleasure to be in her presence. Her soothing vibe creates a safe space where self-discovery and ease naturally unfold. Our work together has brought me closer to myself in ways I didn’t expect.
Her offerings encourage slowing down, listening deeply and connecting within. Josette’s passion for supporting women is undeniable, and I would wholeheartedly recommend working with her.
She’s just launched a new community, Seasons of the Soul® - a gentle, creative, soul-led space to reconnect with your truest self.
If you’re curious, you can join for free here.
Last evening, in her Art of Awareness group - where she guides us through meditation and reflective journaling - the softest answer arrived to this prompt:
The Prompt:
How can I honour cycles of stillness without rushing into action?
My Answer:
By allowing.
The moment that answer surfaced, I saw winter - snow softly drifting. The beauty of watching flakes fall from the sky. The contentment of feeling as though I were standing inside a snow globe, held by stillness.
And then came the contrast:
The impulse to rush. The sound of others outside my window - shoveling, scraping, pushing the snow away as quickly as possible.
Their urgency bumping up against the quiet I was sitting in.
It made me wonder:
What if honouring stillness looks more like letting the snow fall…
and less like doing anything about it at all?
What if allowing the moment to exist - untouched, unhurried - is the real practice?
What if, instead of clearing it, we chose to simply witness it…
or even play in it?
To make snow angels.
To feel wonder.
To stay with the softness before deciding it needs to be managed.
Perhaps allowing is the honouring.
Perhaps stillness simply asks to be noticed, not solved.
How might you honour cycles of stillness without rushing into action?

Thank you for your gentle reminders. When I see your email in my inbox I open it knowing I will have a moment to slow down, breath and let go of…stuff.
I just sit to stay in physical stillness so as to not rush into action.
What takes longer is releasing the worry and details of what is ahead.
Thank you my friend for so generously sharing yourself with us. I so appreciate your friendship.
Hugs. 🩷 🩷 🩷
