***Bonus*** Day 20: Sacred Traditions Advent Calendar
Craft ice decorations.
Hello friends,
This week, I created a delightful holiday decoration that sparked a fun idea for tomorrow’s Winter Solstice tradition.
If you’d like to incorporate it into your own Solstice ritual, you’ll need to get started today—let me share how!
Here’s how to create your own ice decorations:
Gather your materials: Gather natural elements like pine branch tips, berries, leaves, or small flowers to bring color and texture. I used orange slices, but lemon or lime slices would work beautifully too. I also raided my craft closet and found some pinecones and moss. Lay your natural elements in your mold. I used a muffin tin—placing the natural elements first and then pouring in just enough water to cover them. Don’t forget to add a piece of string or ribbon so you can hang your decoration.
Freeze the water: Leave your mold in the freezer for several hours or overnight. You’ll want the ice to be solid and sturdy.
Remove from mold: Once frozen, carefully remove the ice from the mold. To remove from the muffin cup molds, I set the tray in a sink with about one inch of water. They easily lifted out.
✨Store in the freezer until further instructions tomorrow on Winter Solstice day.✨
