Hello friends,
This week, we lean into the gentle alchemy of giving without expecting anything in return.
Surprise & Delight isn’t just about receiving—it's about noticing where we have extra joy to offer, and choosing to share it quietly, intentionally, and creatively.
Sometimes the smallest gift, offered from the heart, can ripple farther than we’ll ever know.
✨ The Challenge: Become a Secret Joy-Giver
Your invitation is simple:
Give one unexpected gift this week.
It doesn’t need to be elaborate or expensive—in fact, handmade is just perfect.
Some ideas, all gifts I’ve given, to get you started (links included):
Message in a Bottle (a tiny gesture that carries a lot of heart!)
Bouquet Garni (little bunches of herbs & spices for soups, stocks, stews, and braises or as fragrant decor to display in your kitchen.)
A Manifesto for Women (a reminder for women to make themselves a priority)
Decorated Easter Eggs (one-of-a-kind keepsakes)
Apple Party Favors (simple wraps turn ordinary apples into heartwarming gestures)
Carrot Cake (a recipe for the best carrot cake ever)
DIY’s to Elevate Your Self-Care Experience (recipes for hand lotion, sugar scrub & bath salts)

However you choose to share, let it come from that quiet place inside that knows joy multiplies when it’s given away.
Whether you leave a wrapped apple on someone’s desk, tuck a message in a bottle for a friend, or decorate an egg with a kind word—your act of secret giving is a spark of light in someone’s day.
I’d love to hear what you create or how it felt to surprise someone. Just hit ‘leave a comment’ and tell me.
Save the Date! Join me at The Kitchen Table on a special day:
📅 Friday, April 25 (moved to the 4th Friday due to Good Friday)
On Friday, April 25th, join me for a 90-minute Zoom gathering filled with unexpected magic and joyful moments. This month, we’re embracing Surprise & Delight—those playful twists, tiny joys, and spontaneous sparks of creativity that brighten our days in the most unexpected ways.
✨ What to expect?
We’ll sip tea together in a cozy, welcoming space while weaving in a few delightful surprises along the way. Expect a creative twist, being surprised by a poem, and a few unexpected moments of joy—because sometimes, the best things in life are the ones we don’t see coming.
For this experience around The Kitchen Table, you’ll be required to bring along a few simple supplies. A list will be provided in plenty of time to gather what you need.
This is a time for meaningful conversation, reflection, and fresh inspiration as we gather around the virtual table and infuse our days with a little more whimsy.
Come with an open heart and a favorite tea, and let’s create some magic together. 💫

Baked up a loaf of bread & carried it across the street - still warm - to my elderly neighbors.
Us Polish girls are all about food, Kathy!
Kathy I love your ideas.
I have always loved the phrase "Scatter Joy" and you my dear live that! I'm about to start to make a pot of chili and so I texted my friend to see if she would be home if I dropped her off a portion for her dinner. Thank you for the reminder. 💖
