Maybe joy arrives through an unexpected conversation or a flash of beauty on your commute. Maybe you surprise yourself by doing something brave or out of character — dancing in your kitchen, starting a conversation, or wearing that outfit you always save for “someday.”
Let life romance you a little.
Let yourself be delighted.
And remember: surprise and delight aren’t always big or loud. Sometimes they show up as a quiet moment of contentment, or a deep breath that softens something inside, or a glance to the sky to discover it’s filled with the color pink.
✨ The Challenge: Plan One Unplanned Adventure
I know — plan one unplanned — sounds like a contradiction! But think of it as setting aside space for spontaneity.
Your challenge is to carve out a pocket of time this week (an hour, an afternoon, even 20 minutes) and let yourself be guided by delight. No agenda. No outcome. Just see where your mood, curiosity, or the moment takes you.
💡A few ideas:
Visit a local garden center you’ve never been to.
Wander through a thrift store or market with no shopping list.
Have a mini solo picnic, even if it’s just in your backyard.
Pick a color or a word and follow where it leads you for the day.
Choose a number (say 3 or 5), take that many turns on your walk, and see where you end up.
You might be amazed at what unfolds when you give joy some breathing room.
As this week unfolds, may you find yourself smiling at the unexpected, pausing for beauty, and feeling the quiet thrill of being surprised by life. Even in the smallest moments — a bird’s song, a kind word, a path you hadn’t noticed before — there is wonder waiting.
Let this be your reminder: you don’t always have to chase delight. Sometimes, it finds you when you slow down enough to notice.

For this experience around The Kitchen Table, you’ll be required to bring along a few simple supplies. A list will be provided in plenty of time to gather what you need.
