Here I am in a Pause moment. Your keen thinking has noted my pondering at the paradox. My body may be at rest but my mind is busy busy!
As I sit in my morning pause at my patio table, sometime the Anna’s hummingbird(s) fly right under the umbrella to within an arms reach. They hover, almost still, but with wings fluttering so very fast, and they look at me. No, I’m not a flower with nectar, only a bright coloured inanimate object that moves. And zip! They are gone!
For me the Pause gives me energy. It takes energy to pause. So I could think that the pause IS the energy. As fully sentient beings can it be otherwise?
(My former philosophy group gathering would have loved this conversation!)
As to what energy looks like for me right now, because my body is healing, more time pausing than physical movement seems to how energy is being used.
This is the most beautiful thing I've read all day. A healing body, a busy mind and a hummingbird looking you in the eye, you are living the paradox in real time, and that is so moving.
The pause IS the energy!
Thank you for sharing this season of your life. Continue your patio pauses, and enjoy your hummingbird friend. I'm pretty sure she'll be back.
The colours you have chosen are quite pretty, but they make me feel sleepy. I gravitate towards the bright crayon box colours, or beautiful, clear, jewel tones. I need energy! The hummingbird has so much energy!
It’s like a reminder to pause and a reminder to be busy, and I like that.
I love that you noticed that! It's such a perfect paradox, and maybe that's the question worth sitting with: what if the pause IS the energy? The hummingbird is pure vitality, and yet it's drawn to stillness, sweetness, and presence. I'd love to explore that more. It might just become a whole piece on its own. What does energy look like for you in this season of your life?
You can always decide to add an accent pop if you feel called, but I don’t think you need to be figurative in terms of the colours of a hummingbird. That makes it a bit obvious and cliche.
If you want to add an accent, I’m so happy to chat in our subscriber chat. You know I’m there for it 🙌
The Hummingbird Nest, feels like magic waiting to happen. I am excited to hear and learn more.
The Vision Board, leaves me feeling the cozy moments and inspiration. The colors of teal and natural wood that is worn by time, is a reflection of wisdom to me. There is a special alchemy brewing here! 🪻🪻🪻
The way you described this tells me you are exactly who The Hummingbird Nest is being built for. That sense of cozy wisdom, of something quietly powerful brewing beneath the surface. That IS the alchemy. You felt it because it's already in you. I'm just creating the space where it gets to come out and play. So glad you're here.
I like the name change and I'm intrigued to hear the story behind it. I absolutely love your vision board. To me the colors are welcoming and friendly.
Thanks Nance. Would love it if you can come to the creative session where we’ll be painting a hummingbird in watercolors. Should have the date firmed up this week. Appreciate your feedback.
As I sat down to journal this morning, I realized my journal has a tiny embossed hummingbird on the cover and the front of my Wisdom of Hafiz Oracle deck has a hummingbird as well.

I'll keep a look out for the date. I'd love to come 💕 I've haven't painted with watercolors much 🎨 It sounds fun.

I hadn't taken notice of them until now. 💞
