Hello friends,
As we step into Week 3 of Cultivating Connection, let’s pause for a moment. In the past two weeks, we’ve explored ways to connect—with ourselves, with loved ones, and with the world around us. You may have had moments of ease, moments of hesitation, or even moments of surprise at what connection looks and feels like for you.
Before we move forward, let’s take a breath and reflect.
A Journaling Prompt for Reflection
Find a quiet moment, pour a cup of soothing tea, and explore these questions in your journal:
✨ What connection moment from last week felt the most meaningful?
✨ What’s one small shift you’d like to carry into this next week?
By pausing to notice, we strengthen our awareness of what truly nourishes us. This week, we’ll continue deepening our connections—with ourselves, with each other, and with the unseen threads that bind us all.
Let’s begin. This week, I’m offering two Connection Snacks—one to deepen your connection with nature and one to nurture connection with your community. Choose the one that speaks to you, or try both and see where they lead.
Connect with Nature: Releasing Beauty into the World: The Art of an Offering
What if we saw the world as both sanctuary and storyteller? A place where we could leave behind small tokens of gratitude, love, and creativity—offerings that others might discover like whispers from the universe.
An offering is a way to weave a bit of yourself into the fabric of the world. It’s a moment of quiet intention, an act of kindness with no expectation of return. It might be:
🌿 A heart-shaped rock, placed along a path as a reminder that love is everywhere.
🌸 A small bundle of wildflowers, left on a park bench to brighten a stranger’s day.
📝 A handwritten note, tucked into a tree’s hollow, carrying a message of hope.
🧵 A hand-stitched piece, released into the wild—stitched with intention, carrying the energy of your hands, waiting to be found by someone who needs it.
The Power of Letting Go
Releasing a hand-stitched piece into the world is like sending a love letter to the unknown. It’s a quiet surrender, an act of trust that your creation will find the right hands—or simply dissolve back into the earth. Maybe someone stumbles upon it and tucks it into their pocket. Maybe it fades into nature, its fibers returning to the soil. Either way, it has served its purpose: a moment of beauty, freely given.
I was first introduced to this idea of releasing a hand-stitched piece into the wild by Megan of Threadspells. I was fortunate to find one of her released pieces, and that small discovery felt like a spark of healing magic. It inspired me to set out on a hike that day, helping me rediscover my motivation to move. I wrote about that experience here.
Witnessing Megan’s courage—her willingness to let her work go into the world—planted something deep within me. There’s something profoundly moving about offering a piece of yourself to the unknown, without expectation, simply trusting that it will land exactly where it’s meant to.
A Gentle Invitation
What might you leave behind as a small offering to the world?
A word, a stitch, a stone?
A piece of your heart, given with love and trust?
Try it this week. Leave something behind. And know that in doing so, you are part of something bigger—an unseen thread of connection weaving us all together.
I hung this hand-stitched envelope with a handmade Valentine card inside outside our condo building on fir tree.
Connect with Community: Scattering Joy: Leaving Uplifting Messages in the World
Small moments of kindness have a way of rippling out into the world, often in ways we’ll never fully see. One simple yet powerful way to spark connection is by leaving uplifting messages in public spaces—on sidewalks as chalk art, on sticky notes tucked into unexpected places, or on a community message board.
Imagine someone rushing through their day, feeling overwhelmed or unseen, and then stumbling upon your words: You are enough. Breathe, you’ve got this. The world is better with you in it. A tiny pause, a gentle reminder, a spark of light just when they need it most.
Here are a few ways to spread these quiet moments of encouragement:
✨ Sidewalk Chalk Art: Write an inspiring message or draw something playful where people will see it on their daily walk.
✨ Sticky Note Love: Leave a kind note on a mirror, a library book, or a community bulletin board.
✨ Message in Nature: Write a thoughtful note on a small stone or leaf and place it on a park bench or tucked into a tree nook.
✨ Gratitude Boards: If your workplace, local coffee shop or grocery store has a community board, add a heartfelt message or invite others to contribute their own.

I love writing messages in the sand, and receiving unexpected messages—on a rock or left on the table at an event.

Take what you need is free from Kelly Rae Roberts. Love the idea of hanging this on a community bulletin board. You can find it here.
The beauty of this practice is in its simplicity—it requires so little but offers so much. This week, I invite you to give it a try. Leave a message somewhere unexpected, and trust that it will find the right person at the right time.
And if you do? Let me know what you wrote—I’d love to hear what words of kindness you’re sending into the world.
This week, I introduced The Kitchen Table—a FREE monthly virtual gathering designed to bring women together in a meaningful and creative way. It’s a space to slow down, share, and be nourished—not just by food, but by conversation, inspiration, and community. There are still a few chairs left at the table, and I’d love for you to take one. 📅 Save your chair by registering below.
That’s a wrap on Week 3 of Connection Snacks as we continue our month of Cultivating Connection. To close this week, I’ll leave you with this quote.
“Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much.” — Helen Keller

These are such great ideas! I love all of them! We have been richly blessed by others who have left items of connection in our local woods. This is a great prompt to see what I want to contribute. Thank you Kathy 😊
