My best ideas come when I’m driving. I do a lot of driving and I drive in silence - which allows me to hear my own voice. Sometimes what comes is creative, which flows into my art; sometimes what comes is practical, as I work out a situation or problem; sometimes it’s visionary, as a new way of doing something in some aspect of my life arises. As I reflected on your question my immediate response was ‘driving’. I am a ponderer and that’s what I do!
I love this Denise. Thanks for sharing. I'm also able to problem solve driving. Most often I can do this when I'm with someone else. It's almost like we feed off of each others energy and ideas.
For me it’s both - when I’m by myself and also when I’m with someone else - and then there’s the hybrid where I’m driving by myself but on the phone with a friend! Once in a rare while I’ll feel like music and I’ll blast some tunes lol - still managing to tune in to my own voice 😊
again, such a beautifully thought provoking post 🤗
I went on a walk by myself last weekend and I was the only one on the trail the whole time. It was raining and I could hear all the different sounds of rain landing. I realized by standing and soaking in the sound (and wetness, hello west coast rainforest), I was forest bathing. And it was lovely. This was not so much an idea generator, but a moment of welcoming messages into my soul.
That sounds so beautiful. Messages to your soul is the perfect way to describe your experience. I love forest bathing. Having lived on the West Coast too, I recall a time where I was walking with a group and fearful I wouldn't be able to keep up on a slight incline. You see I have mild COPD, I was totally out of shape and could picture myself puffing and out of breath. The forest, being in the present moment and appreciating what's before you, provided for an amazing experience. I wasn't winded at all. Thanks for sharing Amanda.
