I’m in total overwhelm with severe bronchitis wreaking havoc with my breathing ability. Elderly father in memory care calling me and saying his wallet is stolen and I can’t go look for it… responsibilities up the kazoo… so I physically cleaned up both “nests” in my sacred space. Put away books waiting to be read, journals half way in progress… so I can focus on lining up my monsters and prioritizing them so I know where to begin. I’m a big believer in following the song lyrics John Lennon wrote to his then 4 year old son: “Life is what happens to you when you’re busy making other plans.” For me, this week my biggest challenge seems to be going along with “life” as I cannot delve into my other plans. May we know this hard lesson and not let it disrupt our peace of mind. ☺️
Sending you positive and healing vibes Val. It’s challenging being a caregiver to others while caretaking ourselves. Take good care of yourself. I love your use of the word “nests” as it relates to your sacred space. 🪺 Here’s to coping with life through wisdom and positivity! 💜
Thanks Kathy. This was so good and so human. Thank you for being honest. I find that frequently, it's those of us that are working to hold space for others and at the same time, we need to hold space for ourselves.
